چکیده
The genus Salmonella belongs to the family of Enterobacteriaceae. In comparison to herbivorous animals dogs and cats have a higher resistence against infections with Salmonella. Under supporting circumstances infections with Salmonella are able to cause diarrhoea; vomiting and fever, also possible are septicaemia in young animals. According to the Robert-Koch Institute about 10 % of human Salmonella-infections associated with diarrhoea are attributed to direct contact to Salmonella-excreting dogs, cats and especially reptiles.

Isolation and identification of Campylobacter spp. and Campylobacter coli from poultry carcasses by conventional culture method and multiplex PCR in Mashhad, Iran
The genus Campylobacter is of great importance to public health because it includes several species that may cause diarrhoea. Poultry and poultry products are known as important sources of human campylobacteriosis. In this study, during the autumn months of 2005, a total of 100 samples from poultry carcasses, representing 20 broiler flocks were obtained by rinse test, after the chilling stage ...
متن کاملOccurrence of virulence genes and strain diversity of thermophilic campylobacters isolated from cattle and sheep faecal samples
The objective of this study was to investigate the genotypic characteristics of Campylobacter isolates in Shiraz, Iran. A total of 40 Campylobacter isolates including 20 C. jejuni and 20 C. coli were recovered from both cattle and sheep faeces by cultivation methods. The isolates were identified on the basis of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) detection of 16SrRNA and multiplex PCR to determine ...
متن کاملAn experimental study to evaluate pathogenicity of Yersinia ruckeri isolated from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Caspian trout (Salmo caspius)
The main objective of this study was to evaluate the pathogenicity of isolated Yersinia ruckeri from Caspian trout. Y. ruckeri specimens were isolated from infected rainbow trout farms located in north of Iran. The identification was confirmed by biochemical tests and 16s rRNA gene sequencing. The pathogenicity test was carried out to determine the virulence of the Y. ruckeri by IP injection...
متن کاملMolecular Identification of Campylobacter, Arcobacter, and Salmonella in Japanese Quail (Coturnix japonica) Reared in Farms of Northern Iran
Background: Food animals such as different rearing birds can transmit zoonotic enteropathogenic bacteria, which exist in their intestinal microbiota. This research was designed in order to molecular identification of Campylobacter, Arcobacter, as well as Salmonella in Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) reared in farms of Northern Iran. Methods: Total of 100 cloacal samples were collected from ...
متن کاملIsolation of Clostridium difficile and molecular detection of binary and A/B toxins in faeces of dogs
The aim of this study was to isolate Clostridium difficile from dogs’ faeces, and to study the frequency of its virulence genes. A total of 151 samples of dogs’ faeces were collected. The isolation of C. difficile was performed by using the bacterial culture methods followed by DNA extraction using boiling method. Multiplex PCR method was performed for identification of tcdA, tcdB, cdtA and cdt...
